Improving Your Affiliate Income…

If this is the first time you've visited my blog, you may wish to subscribe to my RSS feed. I really appreciate your visit, please do come back soon!

If there's one thing that irritates me about many online marketers it has to be laziness!

If, like me, you are on lots of Internet Marketers lists, you will immediately notice when a big launch is happening… purely because your in-box will fill up with hundreds of promotional emails!

My usual response is to set up an email filter to immediately redirect every single email that relates to that offer into a separate folder. Then, when I have time, I can simply go through that folder to see who is using which promotional strategy.

That enables me to quickly and easily see who too lazy to put any effort into their promotion… they are all using the exact same email copy provided by the product publisher. They just get deleted because there's nothing to learn from them… anyone can cut and paste!

OK, once we've eliminated the lazy copy cats, we can review the emails from people who are willing to really work for their affiliate income.

Here are a few lessons from my own observations…

  1. Tell a relevant story that explains how the product has helped you to achieve a positive results. Be specific… For example: "This software increased my sales by 33%"
  2. Write a real review and be sure to include both positives and negatives. An honest review that points out both the strengths and weaknesses of a product is much more credible than a glowing endorsement.
  3. Be open and honest about your relationship with the product and it's publisher. Explain that you are an affiliate and that you will make a commission from every sale that is made through your link. Then give them a reason to buy through your link.  For example: "I'm promoting this product to make enough cash to go to an Internet Marketing Seminar"

If you need some inspiration to help you with your promotional copy then I recommend that you get hold of Larry Dotson's new product… Secret Affiliate Wizard it's jam packed with 100 simple strategies that you can use to boost your affiliate earnings and it comes complete with Master resale Rights!

Speed Up Your Blogging…

Are you a blogger too?

If so, how long does it take you to write and publish a post?

Do you wish that you could write more quickly, but without having to compromise the quality of your work?

There are several different methods that you can use to speed up your writing, while still maintaining the quality of your work or better yet improving it.

Here are seven tips for speeding up your blog posting:

  1. Comfort: If you would like to write more quickly, and improve the quality of your work, it's best to make yourself comfortable. Make sure that your chair offers you good lumbar support and try to ensure that the top of your screen is about level with your eyes so that you are look slightly down at the center of your screen.
  2. Distractions: Try to eliminate as many distractions as possible. If you can, set up your computer in a dedicated area separate from the rest of your house. Switch your telephone to voicemail and turn off email and instant messaging applications. I know it can be difficult, but explain to your family that when you are at your "desk" you are working and ask them to respect your need to privacy.
  3. Typing: How fast can you type? If you type at less than fifty words per minute (wpm), you may want to think about taking a typing class. I find that I can think much faster than I can type so I use Dragon Naturally Speaking which allows me to dictate my blog posts, my articles and my ebooks & Special Guides!
  4. Outlines: Outlines offer a quick and easy way to start your blog post. Once you have completed your initial outline, you know exactly what to write and how to write it. This means that you can just focus on writing and not necessarily thinking about your next step. This, alone, can save you a considerable amount of time.
  5. Spell Check: It is important that anything that you publish is well presented and free from errors. That is why it is important that you use a spell checker. I prefer to just get on with my writing, keeping up the flow and leaving my spell checking until later. If you use the FireFox Browser, all of your misspelled words will be highlighted making it much easier to review and correct them before you finally publish your post.
  6. Proofreading: Although not as critically important as spell checking you should still take time to proofread your writing before publishing. Again, you should avoid proof reading as you go as it can interrupt your flow. But do make sure that your content is grammatically correct before you click the "Publish" button.
  7. Time: Try to set aside sufficient time to compile, spell check, proof read and publish each of your posts. However, please avoid putting yourself under too much pressure to complete a post within too tight a deadline. Focus on your writing rather than on the clock and you will discover that you naturally complete each post more quickly and easily.

You may be surprised just how much these tips can help you.  Give them a try and see for yourself… if your writing improves then please share your success and make a donation! ;)

Review Of Day One

Thank you all for your support during yesterday's launch of the "Purely Because" blog.

Here are the headline achievements:

  1. Configured DNS, set up hosting and installed basic WordPress blog through Fantastico.
  2. Uploaded and configured Semiologic theme including layout, header and sidebar widgets.
  3. Made five blog posts throughout the day to give you something to read and the spiders something to crawl.
  4. Submitted one blog post to Digg.com (probably what attracted the spiders)
  5. Configured the "Ad Spaces" plug-in to automatically display AdSense blocks and Auction Ads.
  6. Configured the "Reading Now" sidebar widget to promote books through Amazon.com
  7. Recorded 99 unique visitors to the blog during the first day.
  8. Received messages of support from several people and estimate that over $50 was donated.
  9. The stats show that the site was crawled by Googlebot three times.
  10. Ten people downloaded Andrew Fox's Free Guru Slayer report.

Having spent a total of 4.5 hours on the site during the day, I think that those results are a very good start. If we can keep up the momentum, it should be possible to raise $5.000 for the Children With Heart Disease within 100 days.

Thanks!

John

Could You Slay A Guru?

I've just finished reading a Free Report from Andrew Fox.

Andrew is launching his brand new product within the next few days and his report outlines some interesting case studies. OK, it's a bit "Salesy" but, let's face it, we are marketers! Anyway, anyone who can generate the levels of income that Andrew enjoys is well worth paying attention to.

Get the Free Report and see for yourself.

How You Can Help…

The whole purpose behind this blog is to raise at least $5,000 to help Children With Heart Disease.

You can help in many ways…

  1. Make a donation, every little helps. It doesn't matter if it's 500 people donating $5 each or 5 people donating $500 each. What matters is that we do what we can to help Children With Heart Disease.
  2. Add a link to Purely Because from your own website or blog. The more links we can get to the site the more opportunites there will be for people to click a link and pay us a visit.
  3. Tell your friends and subscribers about this blog and encourage them to visit!
  4. "Digg" at least one blog post.
  5. Mention Purely Because in your MySpace blog, your Squidoo Lens or anywhere else you feel appropriate.

The key to making a difference is taking action.

Thanks

How To Monetise Your Blog

There are lots of ways to generate income from your blog.

For example, if you look carefully, you will see at least three alternative methods in use right now on this blog…

  1. Obviously I have included Adsense on the page using the "Ad Spaces" plug-in which is part of the Semiologic package.
  2. I've also integrated Auction Ads in the sidebar… these ads make a great alternative to text links.
  3. Less obvious are the text links that are generated automatically by Wordpress Affiliate Pro

I'll be adding some additional revenue streams over the coming weeks, watch out for details

Purely Because We Can Make A Difference

I've been online for almost ten years. My first website was a simple home page plus a couple of "About Me" type pages that were designed to promote my consultancy business. I suppose it was really just a digital brochure… and not an especially good one at that!

These days I have a large portfolio of sites from small niche content sites designed to generate pay per click income through to large portal sites.

Most of my online income is generated from the sale of my own products including ebooks, software, scripts and membership sites. I've been lucky enough to build up a very successful business, I've made lots of friends and I've had a lot of fun.

This website is designed to provide the opportunity to give something back.

The primary objective of "Purely Because" is to help others to achieve their own successes.

Thanks for your participation.
